Can i file my cat's nails?

It is just soo hard to cut her nail even if she is asleep she still notices and is just too difficult! Would it be ok if i just file them? Can i file my cat's nails?
It would be much easier if you take her to the vet. It would also help towards your saftey and the cats. Can i file my cat's nails?
Yes you can, I do all the time to prevent my cat from distroying couches and such. Just be sure not to get to close to the pink part of her/his nail because the closer you get the more it will hurt her/him. Thats also why when cats get declawd they get put to sleep so they dont feel the pain of their claws getting ripped out. You can also try clipping her/his nails just be careful if he/she starts meowing that means it hurts her/him
If you think cutting the nails is bad filing would be worse Plus you will split the nail down to the bed. I suggest if you can't do it take it to your vet or groomer and have them do it for you.It is cheap like 10 or 15. dollars. Try this. Get your cat in your lap and sit in a chair or couch

next to the armrest. Now get her all relaxed by stroking and stratching her. Then slip in her gently between you and the armrest. Now gently

hold her place with your body and take hold of her paw press down on the middle gently and the claws come out. Quickly clip the sharp ends off.If she struggles and you only get one paw done then leave the second one for another day.Another trick is to slip the cat into a pillowslip up to her neck and leave the one paw sticking out.It is best if someone else holds the 'cat inthe bag' while you clip the claws.I have 6 cats and I clip their front and back paws every two weeks by myself. Once they get use to the idea you will not give up and it has to be done they will let you do it. Be firm but gentle.
I wouldn't even try to file the nails and she probably wouldn't let you anyway. I would take her to a vet groom shop or a place where they do grooming. Someone said you could split the nail and you don't want to do that, so I would pay someone else who knows what they're doing to do it.
I just saw this thing on TV for filing your pets claws,it battery operated and all you do is put the paw into this gismo and it does the trick without hirting your cat. Look for it on the internet otherwise it could be harmful if you cut the claw to far down,it will blead and hirt it.
How would filing be any easier? Wrap her in a blanket with her head out and have a friend hold her facing you. Pull out the paw you want to clip and clip away. If she still struggles then bring her to a vet or groomer and have them trim them for you.
You're supposed to file the nail after you cut it. There is a mechanical nail file I've seen on TV for pets. That would be effecient. You should start playing with her feet more %26amp; rewarding her so that she won't mind so much.
get soft paws. theyre nail caps that you clue on their nails. idk if that would work though because you can't cut them. take to the groomer. the vet is to expensive and a nice groomer might do it for free.
it just be easier to take her to the vet, i tried doing it to my dog but it takes forever!
Take her to a vet.

For her sake and yours.
no no bad idea let her do it her self
why not
