as the name suggests , it just files them , gives them a shape and makes them smoother ... and also it ensures nail growth evenly the next time ....
The purpose of filing your nails is to shape them, depending on how you like them square round more oval etc ...
It is easier to shape them and it's so there not so pointy that they snag on your clothes and things.
it is just easier to shape them the way you want instead of fingernail clippers.
i usually file my nails after i cut them so that there's no sharp edges
it also shapes them nice :-)
to much filing damages your nails though
just shape them ok
to make them neat and pretty
