Lab, German Shepard Mix

He only ate half of it.

Sort of like this one:

Will he be okay?My 9 Month Old Puppy Ate a Foam Nail File...?
A dog that large will probably poop it out without any issues. Keep an eye on him though.

And make sure you keep your nail files out of his reach. I don't know why, but many dogs seem to adore nail files! My 9 Month Old Puppy Ate a Foam Nail File...?
Probably, as long as there's no metal in it. It's amazing what will pass through a dog's system!

Thoroughly check the file for metal content. If there is any, get him to the vet right away.

If there isn't, then just keep an eye on him. Watch for vomiting, diarrhea, difficulty pooping or a loss of appetite.

Go out with him so you can check his BMs %26amp; know it has passed okay.

Give him a little extra fiber to help move things along (bran cereal, canned pumpkin, a tablespoon of Benefiber or Metamucil) %26amp; encourage him to drink lots of water.
If your pup tore it up into small pieces it will likely pass just fine. If you notice that your pup is not eating the same as normal, not pooping the same as normal, not drinking the same as normal or coughing at all take the pup to the vet because one of the pieces may have been too big and will cause a blockage that can be dangerous or even fatal.

Also, make sure your pup does not have full run of the house. Contain the pup to just the kitchen or one specific room when you are not playing with the pup or watching it very closely. This will not only protect your pup from cosmetic tools, but will also help your pup with boundaries and knowing which space belongs to you and which space is the pup's.
a tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide will make him throw up in a few minutes time. If it doesn't work, give him another shot. We did this with our then 8 mo old lab/golden cross when she chewed about six feet of leash, and it all came up (along with some kibble)! Don't let him drink too much too soon after! Call your vet to ask if you're worried I might be nuts! Other answers make sense, tho, since it was just a short piece of foam and will likely come out with no problem.
You need to get him to the vet.
he will be fine, but keep your stuff out of puppy reach. he is teething and will chew whatever fits in his mouth.
Puppies will be puppies, remember that. It's not a big deal mine ate a crayon. LOL and she's fine I'm sure she will just poop it out later. nothing serious. :)
