generally in one direction and in long fluid motions
if you file erratically then you are more likely to do damage or split the nailHow do you file nails?
well basically you just get the file, put it slightly under your fingernail, and file in one direction only or you will really damage and weaken your nails.and well, that's about it really, sorry! How do you file nails?
always go in one direction so you do not weaken the nail....decide the effect you want, square or oval..and slightly cut the nail with clippers to desired length and shape..then file..again ..in one direction with the file slightly in an angle......thats how i do it atleast and have had no problems.....GOOD LUCK HUN!!!!!!!!!!
This link has a short video that walks you through how to file properly step by step...really nice to watch...!!!!

i dont think there is a right or wrong way to file your nails... considering its your fingernails youre talking about. nails are dead skin so theres really not much you can do to harm them.
Under 'N': I don't think it's case sensitive.
This is a really great video explaining how to file and buff your nails. I find its easier to see someone doing it than have someone write about it. Hope this is helpful!
